Blush Agave Market Bag

The Blush Agave Market Bag is made from wild-harvested agave fibers that are handwoven into an incredibly lightweight expandable design. The bag lies flat against your body when empty, but can stretch to accommodate as much as a typical canvas tote. 

This weaving is dyed with cochineal, a bug which lives on the nopal cactus and has been cultivated as a natural dye by the Zapotecs for centuries. It is finally finished with a hand-cut adjustable leather strap. 

The agave plant has important historical, cultural and even spiritual significance to the indigenous people of southern Mexico who make these bags. It is quite common for local farmers to use a bag just like this on a daily basis, carrying their lunch and other belongings with them as they go to tend their crops.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Agave fibers are naturally durable and resistant to soil. Spot clean with a damp cloth as needed.

Extend the life and beauty of the leather strap by not handling with oily hands. If the straps are soiled you can spot clean with a dry or damp cloth. If desired, leather conditioner products can soften and protect new straps or re-moisturize older straps.
