Clay Tumbler Set (2) "El Pochote"
The unique form of these clay tumblers are inspired by the Pochote tree, which is native to Oaxaca and has bumpy thorns all along its trunk. The form of this set borrows from this tree, and the little bumps create not only a unique look, but convenient handholds while you enjoy any hot or cold beverage.
Sold in a set of 2 tumblers.
The cups are made by an artisan family in a small village outside of Oaxaca City. They can trace their lineage of ceramicists back through countless generations, to ancient earthen kilns found at the nearby ruins of Monte Albán. Their home workshop is an impressive example if a family business, with multiple generations all working with clay, under one roof. Everything is fired in their backyard earth oven.
